PD: Woman drove drunk with kid in car

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A woman is facing several charges including child endangerment and DUI after officers say she fled a domestic disturbance with a child in the vehicle Sunday.

Debbie George, Chief of Staff for the City of Suffolk, told WAVY.com officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Sherwood Place for a report of a domestic disturbance. There, the victim told police 43-year-old Lara Mazur was intoxicated and drove off in the victim’s vehicle.

According to the victim, Mazur struck a tree and the victim’s 8-year-old daughter was in the vehicle.

George said officers caught up with Mazur in the 2600 block of Little John Road, where they arrested her and charged her with driving under the influence with a child, child endangerment, reckless driving, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and driving on a revoked license.

No one was injured, however, further information surrounding the arrest was not immediately available. It is also unknown what type of weapon Mazur had in her possession.
