SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a case of a police impersonator asking for donations over the phone to buy books for schoolchildren is unfounded.
According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, a victim contacted police Monday, saying she had been contacted by a man named Bob in early January asking for donations and identifying himself as a Suffolk officer.
The same woman told police the impersonator had called her at work, soliciting for donations.
