ODU student shot with air gun

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - An Old Dominion University student was hit by an air gun pellet while walking near campus Wednesday night.

ODU spokeswoman Jennifer Mullen told WAVY.com the student was walking alone just before 11 p.m. and was at the corner of 45th Street and Killam Avenue when he said a car pulled up with at least two men inside.

The victim heard a noise then felt some pain in his elbow. Mullen said he had been hit with a pellet from an air gun. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injury.

ODU police are investigating this incident. The victim told police the vehicle was a blue Buick LeSabre. He did not get a good description of the suspects. There have been no arrests and police have not released a motive.
