NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Norfolk Police Department introduced a new way of submitting Crime Line tips that may be more effective for the younger, text-savvy generation.
You can now text tips to CRIMES (274637).
"Norfolk Public Schools this year adopted one of its six priorities as school safety. This is exciting because this will help us support that initiative greatly. And we know that the younger demographic texts a lot and we hope that this will allow us to tap almost 35,000 students eyes and ears on the streets so that they can be part of the solution," said Dr. Warren A. Steward with Norfolk Public Schools.
