NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man who reportedly sexually assaulted a woman near her home on July 31.
Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when the 26-year-old victim was approaching her home in the Denbigh area. An unknown man reportedly grabbed the victim from behind, forced her to a porch and threatened her hurt her and her family if she resisted.
The victim was then sexually assaulted and the suspect fled, Eley said.
The suspect has been described as a dark-skinned black male wearing a dark long sleeved t-shirt and dark colored jeans. He also had a close cut haircut and possible facial hair.
