NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man officer’s say stole a purse and used the owner’s credit cards.
Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said the theft occurred on Nov. 27 between 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. An unknown man broke into the front driver’s side window of a parked vehicle and took the victim’s purse.
The victim’s credit cards were then immediately used at banks and stores. The suspect was captured on surveillance footage.
Anyone with information as to the identity and location of the suspect is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
