NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a Newport News shooting victim passed away from his injuries Tuesday evening.
According to Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department, police were alerted that a shooting victim was being treated at the Sentara CarePlex just after midnight Jan. 26. At the time, the victim was suffering from life threatening injuries and police determined he was shot in the 5900 block of Potomac Avenue earlier that evening.
He passed away Jan. 29 at the CarePlex. Police continue to investigate the cause of the man's death.
