SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Suffolk woman has been indicted by a grand jury Wednesday for stabbing her daughter then turning the knife on herself.
According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, now 42-year-old Rhonda Hingerty had stabbed her teen daughter in the back several times while she slept during the early morning hours of Jan. 24, 2012.
Hingerty turned the knife on herself, and was treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital then released. Her daughter was treated at the same hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Earlier this week, Hingerty was arrested on a charge of assault: shoot or stab in commission of a felony. Her initial charges were felonious assault.
