Miller Mart manager robbed at gunpoint

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Police are searching for a man who robbed a Miller Mart in Newport News Thursday morning.

According to Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department, an unknown black male suspect entered the Miller Mart located at 13797 Warwick Blvd. at 6:45 a.m. and walked into the manager’s office. The suspect displayed a large frame black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

He was able to flee with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as standing 5’8” to 5’9” weighing 170 pounds with a full salt and pepper beard. He was thought to be in his 40s and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, light colored slacks, black gloves and white sneakers at the time of the robbery.
