NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Jeffrey L. Banks and Brian L. Morton were sentenced July 9 to 20 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute more than a kilogram of heroin.
Peter Carr with the US Attorney's Office told WAVY.com Banks was sentenced to 240 months in prison, and Morton was sentenced to 258 months in prison.
Carr says the two men were tried together and convicted on April 12, 2012.
Police say Banks and Morton were engaged in distributing heroin to heroin users from early 2000 until November 2011 in Hampton and Newport News.
