Man wanted in Hampton shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton Police are asking for help in catching a man who reportedly shot another man late Tuesday night.

Cpl. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division said officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 500 block Shelton road around 10:45 p.m. While en route, officers were alerted the call was upgraded to a shooting.

Once on scene, they found a 38-year-old Hampton man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time. His condition is unknown, however, Price said his injury was non-life threatening.

Further investigation has led police to Adrian Van Tilson, 37, of Hampton as the alleged shooter. Price said he’s wanted for one count of maiming, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
