Man tackled, robbed in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Officials say a man was tackled by two males and robbed shortly after 4 a.m. in Suffolk while walking to his car.

According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, police were dispatched at 4:28 a.m. Wednesday morning to the 500 block of Ocklawaha Avenue for a robbery.

They spoke to the victim who said he had left an establishment on North Main Street just after 4 a.m. He told police as he was walking to his car parked in front of the 200 block of North Saratoga Street, two men approached him and tackled him.

One of the suspects robbed the victim of $300 while the other suspect watched. The two men then ran north on North Saratoga Street, while the victim walked to Ocklawaha Avenue where he lives because he said he was scared the suspects would come back.

One suspect is described as white man, wearing a grey or white hoodie, blue jeans, white sneakers with a black back, standing roughly 5'10", weighing 170-180 pounds in his mid 20s. Police say he possibly had brown or reddish hair and scruffy facial hair.

The other suspect is described as a black man wearing a black flight jacket with orange on the inside, a dark hoodie under that, blue jeans, no facial hair, in his late 20s, standing approximately 5'7" and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds.
