Man shot in collarbone in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A man in his 20s was shot multiple times Thursday evening in Newport News.

According to Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department, the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the collarbone and arm.

Thurston says the man was shot around 6:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Madison Avenue, and made his way to the 600 block of 36th Street where he was found by police.

Thurston says the shooting remains under investigation and there is no word yet on motive or suspects.
