CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A mall kiosk was robbed by an unknown suspect in Chesapeake Wednesday morning.
Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said an employee of the Gold Rush kiosk in Greenbrier Mall was about to open the kiosk when she was approached by an unknown black male. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the employee.
After obtaining and undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled toward the north end of the mall, O’Sullivan said. No one was injured.
"It's just Christmas time," patron Carter Evans said. "People do crazy things this time of year."
The suspect has been described as having a dark complexion and is in his late 20s to early 30s. He is believed to be 5’8” and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a black baseball hat at the time of the robbery.
