Unannounced visit leads to drug bust

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - An unannounced visit by a probation and parole officer has led to the arrest of one of their clients on drug and weapons charges, according to police.

According to Chris Amos with the Norfolk Police Department, the officer entered the client's home, saw drug paraphernalia and called police late Wednesday morning.

Amos says police found drugs and some methampetamine-making materials at the home in the 4800 block of Windermere Avenue. The man, identified as Thomas R. Borsuk, was taken into custody.

He has been charged with the following:

• Possession with intent to sell
• Possession of a controlled substance
• Three count of mixing or distributing methamphetamine
• Possessing a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance
• Possess or transport firearms by a convicted felon

It is unknown if Borsuk was on probation or parole at this time.
