Man charged in deadly Norfolk shooting

NORFOLK, VA. (WAVY) - Norfolk Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection to an early morning homicide Friday.

A man was shot in the 6600 block of Glenoak Drive around 3 a.m., Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department said. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Casey E. Hardesty, 35, of Norfolk. According to Hardesty's Facebook page, he was a Freemason as well as a father. 

Officers spent the majority of the day interviewing a suspect. Nearly 12 hours after the shooting, it was announced Joseph Clark Chatfield of the 6600 block of Glenoak Drive had been arrested and charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime.
