NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank armed with a rifle Wednesday morning and say it's not his first rodeo.
Chris Amos with the Norfolk Police Department said the Wells Fargo located at 1280 North Military Highway was robbed just before noon by an unknown black male suspect. That suspect has since been identified as Detmetrius Lockhart, 44.
The suspect, armed with the rifle, demanded money and the tellers complied. He was able to flee with an undisclosed amount of money in a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Amos said the suspect was described as a 'short' black male in his 40s. He was wearing a black stocking cap and a camouflage jacket at the time of the robbery.
No one was injured in the incident.
Lockhart is also wanted for another robbery at a Wells Fargo in the Ghent section Saturday morning.
Anyone with information should call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
