PD: Homicide victim found in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - The body of an adult male was found in Hampton Friday evening, marking the city's first homicide of 2013.

According to Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division, police received a call of a shooting just before 8 p.m. in the 600 block of Homestead Avenue.

Officers arrived on the scene to find 24-year-old James Terrell Williams, of Hampton, suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Price.

Police say there is no suspect information at this time. The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the motive are still under investigation.
