Newport News fugitive captured

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A fugitive from Newport News was captured Monday afternoon in the Eastern Shore.

Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department says Jason Daniel Brumbaugh, 32, says a tipster called Eastern Shore officials, alerting them of Brumbaugh's possible location.

Brumbaugh was taken into custody at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in Accomack County.

Thurston says Brumbaugh was wanted on one count each of burglary, grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell and obtaining money by false pretenses stemming from  burglary overnight Aug. 15 in the 12600 block of McManus Boulevard.

According to Thurston, Brumbaugh was also wanted on a probation violation "Where the underlying charge is murder."
