VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A fugitive wanted in Georgia was captured by Virginia Beach Police after officers say he raped a woman in a hotel room Sunday.
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department told WAVY.com the victim called 911 to say she was raped in the 400 block of South Independence Boulevard. According to Moyers, the suspect, Marcus Jermaine Norman, 26, forced his way into the hotel room and raped the victim.
The victim fled into the bathroom, where she was able to call 911. Police were able to apprehend Norman quickly.
Moyers added Norman was wanted in Georgia on a parole violation.
