CAMDEN COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - Deputies report a felon was arrested Monday for carrying firearms in his vehicle, heading into Camden County.

According to Tony Perry with the Camden County Sheriff's Office, deputies were alerted to known felon John Wesley Goines, seen loading firearms into his van.

Goines, 27, was pulled over during a traffic stop on the Camden causeway Jan. 14. Perry said deputies found two 12 gauge shotguns in his van, wrapped in a green blanket.

Perry said Goines was convicted of felony burglary in April 2011 in Chesapeake.

Goines was placed on a $10,000 secured bond and placed behind bars at the Albemarle District Jail. His first court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 18, 2013 in Camden County.
