HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A man sporting a fake beard robbed a local fast food chain Monday night, and Hampton Police need help finding him.

Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division said the robbery occurred just after 10 p.m. at the Long John Silvers in the 900 block of Big Bethel Road. An unknown black male wearing a fake beard entered the restaurant, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect fled through the front doors on foot after obtaining and undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen running toward the back of the restaurant. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male standing 5’8” and weighing 180 to 200 pounds with a dark complexion. He is said to be in his 30s and was wearing a dark baseball hat, black t-shirt, light blue jeans and sunglasses at the time of the robbery.

Police are trying to determine if this suspect is the same one who has been robbing several other businesses between York County, Newport News and Hampton. He is wanted for more than two dozen robberies, including one in April at the same Long John Silvers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
