ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) - Officials say a North Carolina doctor has been charged with Medicaid fraud and receiving more than $3,000 in payments from the program.
According to the North Carolina Department of Justice, Dr. Francis A. Bald, who operates in Nags Head and Elizabeth City, allegedly billed the Medicaid program for services that were not provided to patients.
He billed the program for dental procedures that were not performed, including anesthesia and X-ray services.
Bald was arrested Dec. 18 and the state estimates losses to be more than $3,100.
