Deposit snatched in bank parking lot

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Suffolk Police are searching for a man who snatched a deposit from a female victim in the parking lot of a bank Monday morning.

According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, the robbery took place at the Bank of America located in the 200 block of West Washington Street around 10:35 a.m. An unknown black male suspect approached the victim from behind as she exited her vehicle to make a deposit, took the bag and fled on foot toward the library.

The victim was not injured and a weapon was never displayed, Klink said.

The suspect has been described as standing 5’7” and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident. It is unknown if the incident was captured on surveillance.
