PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Police say two delivery drivers were robbed at gunpoint while delivering food to homes on the same block.

According to Jan Clark with the Portsmouth Police Department, the first incident occurred Feb. 4 just before 8 p.m.  A delivery driver from Domino's pizza was called to a home on the 1400 block of Talley Circle.

Clark said the driver was approached by a man carrying a handgun, telling her to keep silent.

The victim screamed several times and the suspect fled the area without taking anything from her. Officers spoke with the owners of the home the victim was delivering food to, who said they did not order any food.

The second robbery occurred the next day just after 9:30 p.m. on the same block of Talley Circle. The victim, a delivery driver for China Ocean restaurant on London Boulevard, contacted police after being robbed.

Clark said the victim then rang the doorbell of the home he was delivering food to, and when no one answered, he started walking back to his car and was then robbed of food and cash at gunpoint. The suspect then drove away in the delivery driver's vehicle, described as a 2007 Ford 500 with VA license plates XTC-6752.

The suspect in both cases is described as a black man, 6'2" tall, weighing 150 pounds with a thin build. He is considered armed and dangerous.
