Crime Line tip leads PD to wanted teen

Teen also wanted on a probation violation

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a Crime Line caller helped officers catch a teen wanted for several burglaries in the South Wythe section of Hampton.

According to Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division, William Joseph Brown, III, 15, was arrested in the 8200 block of Terrell Lane Monday after police received the tip. Brown has been charged with four counts of burglary, four counts of grand larceny, unauthorized used of a vehicle and a probation violation.

Brown was wanted for burglaries that occurred between Sept. 17 and Sept. 19. Brown entered three homes in the 700 block of Milford Avenue and the 500 block of Homestead Avenue, where he stole electronics and other items, according to police.

Hampton Police secured warrants for three counts of burglary and three counts of grand larceny. The additional charges stem from outstanding warrants.
