Convicted felon arrested in robbery

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to a robbery and shooting in June.

Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com officers arrested Carlos Emanuel Manson, Jr. after a more than three-month search. Manson was wanted in connection to a robbery that occurred on June 12.

Manson allegedly robbed and shot the victim in the 700 block of 19 ^th Street. Several attempts to arrest Manson were unsuccessful until Tuesday, when he was found in Hampton.

Manson has been charged with malicious wounding, attempt to commit a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
