Convicted felon arrested in robbery

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to a robbery and shooting in June.

Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com officers arrested Carlos Emanuel Manson, Jr. after a more than three-month search. Manson was wanted in connection to a robbery that occurred on June 12.

Manson allegedly robbed and shot the victim in the 700 block of 19 th Street. Several attempts to arrest Manson were unsuccessful until Tuesday, when he was found in Hampton.

Manson has been charged with malicious wounding, attempt to commit a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
