VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - An office at a Virginia Beach church was found ransacked early Monday morning, according to police.

Virginia Beach Police spokesperson Jimmy Barnes told WAVY.com officers were called to Nimmo Church located at 2200 Princess Anne Road around 8:30 a.m. when the church’s pastor discovered the office ransacked.

According to Barnes, the suspect(s) forced entry into the church by knocking off a doorknob. They found a safe that contained church papers, but reportedly left without taking anything.

The church did not have surveillance video.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Virginia Beach Police Department.
