Chase suspect charged with third DUI

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Chesapeake Police have arrested a DUI suspect after a chase that spanned two cities Monday night.
Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department told WAVY.com officers spotted a vehicle driving erratically on Interstate 664 near Dock Landing Road. When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver refused to stop.
A pursuit ensued and the suspect led the officer into Suffolk, O’Sullivan said. The pursuit ended in the area of Camellia Drive and Brookwood Drive and the suspect was arrested without incident.
Shawn A. Matthews was charged with third offense DUI, eluding police and driving on a revoked operator’s license.
