VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Two suspects walked out of a pet store with an expensive bird and now Virginia Beach Police are searching for them.
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said an employee of Animal Jungle located at 4318 Holland Road discovered the bird missing on Oct. 14 from a small bird room. When the manager looked over the surveillance footage, they found two suspects in the room the night before.
According to police, the suspects were seen on camera concealing the bird and then leaving the store.
The bird is a White Bellied Caique, valued over $800. It’s described as 7 ½ - 8”, a white belly with a green body and a few black spots on the head.
The suspects are described as a white male and white female. The male suspect was wearing a dark shirt and jeans while the female was wearing what may be a Philadelphia Eagles hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
