Arrest made in pit bull's shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk Police have arrested a man in connection to a boat theft where a pit bull was shot at a marina in December.

Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department told WAVY.com Alfred Rattler, 29, has been charged with grand larceny, two counts of destruction of property, value more than $1,000, maiming or killing of animals or fowl and conspiring to commit or assist in larceny.

Rattler is accused of participating in an incident where five boats were stolen on Dec. 28. A pit bull, Breezeway, was also shot during the burglary.

Breezeway underwent emergency surgery after she was shot twice.
