Woman medevaced by Coast Guard

OREGON INLET, N.C. (WAVY) - A 72-year-old woman aboard a cruise ship was medevaced by the Coast Guard Monday morning following reports of medical problems.

According to David Weydert with the U.S. Coast Guard, the crew of cruise ship Carnivale Miracle called the Coast Guard at 10 a.m. Monday reporting a woman experiencing medical problems approximately 210 miles offshore of Oregon Inlet.

The Coast Guard sent out air crews abroad an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and an HC-130 Hercules aircraft to transport the woman to Norfolk's Santara Leigh Hospital.
