NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Commanding Officer of the USS Kauffman was relieved of his duties Friday due to a loss of confidence in his ability to lead.
According to a news release from the U.S. Navy, Cmdr. Corey Wofford has been reassigned to the staff of Naval Surface Force Atlantic.
The release listed Wofford's poor performance and inability to correct inefficients led to Capt. John Fuller's decision to relieve Wofford.
Cmdr. Jennifer Couture will act as permanent relief for the Kauffman, currently docked at Naval Station Norfolk.
