Original Tuskegee airman visits JTF-CS

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - One of the original members of the Tuskegee Airmen visited Joint Task Force Civil Support Friday.
Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Ezra Hill of Newport News spoke about the significant role the all-black unit played in World World II despite segregation.
By the end of the war, 992 men had graduated fro Negro Air Corps pilot training at Tuskegee and 450 were sent overseas for combat. 150 pilots lost their lives in training or during combat.
The visit was part of Black History Month to show the contributions African Americans made in the military.
