Ceremony to be held on USS Arlington

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - In preparation for an April commissioning, the USS Arlington (LPD 24) will dock in Norfolk Friday for a ceremony honoring first responders and victims of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon.

According to a news release from the Navy, the ceremony will be held March 22 at noon and the commissioning will be held at 12:30 p.m. April 6 at Naval Station Norfolk.

Those in attendance will include the ship's Commanding Officer Cmdr. Darren Nelson, Capt. Kevin Reardon representing first responders and first responders themselves.
