NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The passenger terminal at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois is being dedicated to the memory of a former Old Dominion University student killed in 2011.
Officials dedicated the terminal in honor of 21-year-old Airman 1st Class Zachary Cuddeback. He and another airman were killed when a man fired on a busload of soldiers at the Frankfurt International Airport in Germany. Cuddeback was a vehicle operator assigned to Ramstein Air Base.
Media outlets report that Cuddeback was born at Scott Air Force Base and graduated from William Monroe High School in Stanardsville, Va., in 2008.
Cuddeback played ice hockey at Old Dominion and was a member of the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity until he joined the Air Force in 2009.
