NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Local veterans who are business owners and entrepreneurs now have another place to turn for help.
The Veterans Business Outreach Center hosted its grand opening Monday at Old Dominion University.
The center offers services such as business training, counseling, electronic and online assistance, and other technical assistance to military veterans and reservists.
Funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, ODU officials say it's the only such center in Virginia.
"This center is very important for veterans and reservists, providing them vital tools to succeed in a competitive business environment," said Jerry Robertson, associate vice president and executive director of the ODU Business Gateway, in an ODU release. "It also is a great example of why we created the ODU Business Gateway. It's a great way to connect the real-world expertise of Old Dominion University with talented, driven entrepreneurs to grow our economy."
