OAK ISLAND, N.C. (AP) - Skydivers and stunt crews involved with the filming of "Iron Man 3" will be filming aerial drops over the Atlantic Ocean just off the shore of Oak Island for the next couple of weeks.
The StarNews of Wilmington reported that a permit with the town of Oak Island says the beach landings will continue until Aug. 1.
A beach access point near Barbee Boulevard has been closed to the public during filming. The production is paying about $143 per day to film on the island.
The Brunswick County shoots began last week and follow several days of filming in downtown Wilmington. "Iron Man 3" is based at Wilmington's EUE/Screen Gems Studios and is expected to film around the state through October. It will hit theaters in May 2013.
