VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) held a news conference in Virginia Beach Friday to share with the public lessons learned and how future work will be performed on area tunnels and bridges.

The briefing follows last weekend's severe traffic impacts as a result of VDOT closing both the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (HRBT) and James River Bridge (JRB) in the same direction, at the same time.
