ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) - Some people got to get up close and personal with the king of the jungle over the weekend, well, the future king anyway.

The Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro let visitors meet a six-week old lion cub Sunday. He's the son of the zoo's white lion, Ramses, and he doesn't have a name yet.

According to Melanie Stoehrer, Curator of Education at the zoo, the lion cub was born on November 6th and is about 14 pounds now.

"He'll probably leave the zoo when he's between six and eight months old." says Stoehrer.

Right now, for a small donation, visitors can spend an hour of hands-on time with the little lion. The donations help defray the costs of caring for the lion cub.

"We've had a tremendous public response. In the future, if we have cubs again, we would be doing these kinds of encounters again," says Stoehrer.

If you'd like to meet him face to face, act fast! By the end of the month, he'll be too big to play with humans.
