Hampton Roads Hero: Erdie Hutchings

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVBT) - Teresa nominated her daughter's teacher Erdie Hutchings to be chosen as this week's Hampton Roads Hero.

Erdie is a hard working and caring educator at Hillpoint Elementary School in Suffolk.

In her nomination letter, Teresa had this to say about Erdie, "Mrs. Hutchings is my daughter’s 4 ^th grade teacher at Hillpoint Elementary School here in Suffolk. She constantly gives her own time to tutor the children before school. She is always available for the kids and parents. She surprised my daughter by coming to her first softball game. The way she was acting taking pictures and everything, you would have thought she was a parent.

We all remember that one teacher who made a difference in your life and I know Mrs. Hutchings is that one teacher who made it for Elisbebeth.

I am truly grateful for Mrs. Hutchings and her hard work and dedication to all the kids"
