CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A few bucks in change won't buy you much, but when students at a Chesapeake school put their money together - they bought something incredible - better health for millions of babies.

At Georgetown Primary in Chesapeake - the students are small, but their hearts are huge.

Students at Georgetown Primary raised, to this point, $10,563.58 for the March of Dimes.

The school's five year total now stands at $27,000 - way more than any other Hampton Roads school.

It all started with kindergarten teacher Kami Brown. Her daughter Kinsely was born premature at just 26 weeks. After Kinsely died, Brown dedicated herself to saving other babies and her drive inspired her students.

The kids' sincerity has touched March of Dimes staffers.

"It's incredible to open a little coin box and find a note in there that says, 'Give this to the sick children,'" one of the staffers explained.

And Friday, Mrs. Brown found out how much she's touched her school. A tree was dedicated in honor of her daughter Kinsely. The tree stands right outside of the kindergarten window where Brown can see it everyday.

"She served a huge purpose and I believe this was it, to help other people and try to prevent other babies from going through what she went through," Brown explained.

Join Georgetown primary and 10 On Your Side for the March For Babies this Sunday at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. It starts at 9 a.m.
