Financial Matters: Tastefully Yours

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVBT) - For more than 15 years, the folks at BayPort Credit Union have been encouraged to be actively involved in the community and that mission has formed a close partnership with The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula.

BayPort is behind the largest fundraiser for the Foodbank,The annual Tastefully Yours event. Maria Owens with BayPort Credit Union and the Tastefully Yours committee chairperson, tells us more about it. Tastefully Yours is the Peninsula Foodbank's largest fundraiser each year, with this being their 18th year. Area organizations, along with local restaurants, support the event with sponsorships or in-kind services. BayPort Credit Union has become the largest sponsor of the event, as well provides the largest number of staff volunteers to ensure the Foodbank's success. Furthermore, tickets for the event are sold at each Branch prior to the event night.

Come join a fun, yet relaxing, evening with fine wines, selection of beers, a variety of delicious foods, live music, as well as a DJ. Additional entertainment will be "just for fun" gambling tables, a silent auction, door prizes, photo booths, and Jan and Charlie, an acoustic duo, performing in the foyer.
