NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVBT) - Teaching children the value of a dollar is difficult,  especially when they're younger and they may actually think that money does grow on trees.  If you're trying to teach your children financial responsibility, you have to start young.   That's why BayPort Credit Union has teamed up with Boys and Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula for a Financial Football Camp.

Details:

Last two summers BayPort has partnered with the Boys & Girls club to take to the next level the already existing financial literacy program.

More than 125 kids in the program each summer with 15 clubs involved.

How does the four-day camp work? We are utilizing three central locations, where BayPort staff comes in to work with the kids, as well as provide a fun learning environment complete with a pizza party and a store to purchase fun items.

Curriculum - Impacted base high yield learning environment. On-line interactive video game produced by the NFL and VISA. BayPort provides this game free on their website. Click here for more information.

Donations are always welcome.  To learn more about the Boys & Girls Club, click here .
